The 3rd Annual Powhiri held on 9th November, 2024 at the Maungatapu Marae.

More than 350 migrants and their families were warmly welcomed into Aotearoa through a special Powhiri hosted by Ngāi Te Rangi.
The day was a vibrant celebration of culture and connection, with participants representing a rich tapestry of backgrounds — including Latin America, Bangladesh, India, China, and many more.
Following the Powhiri, guests enjoyed a morning tea before moving into a programme of inspiring speeches and cultural performances from community leaders. Interactive workshops such as tukutuku panel weaving, poi making, and kapa haka were enjoyed by all and helped foster meaningful cross-cultural exchange. The day concluded with a delicious hāngī and shared ethnic kai — a true celebration of unity through food and friendship.
