A new, free group for Spanish speakers in Tauranga was launched on Meetup by Angela Collins, a Spanish teacher. The first meeting is on 27 March 2015 at La Mexica, 106 The Strand, where the group will meet and greet in Spanish and English.

The idea is to network, form a Spanish-speaking community, and get to know new people in a social environment.

Angela aims to get native Spanish speakers together with New Zealand Spanish teachers (non-natives) and students who have a good basic level of Spanish so that there can be an informal exchange of Spanish and English.

Those who are interested, especially from the Ecuadorian community, should go to meetup.com and search the Tauranga area. They then need to join the group Tauranga Spanish Language Meetup and they will then become members and see all upcoming events. Direct contact to Angela Colllins is
