On Saturday, 21 March 2015, Tauranga's Historic Village came alive with a festival of cultures, colours and culinary treats from around the world. A selection of photos taken by committee member Mark Bils during the day is included in this slideshow. More photos are on the main Festival page.
For the first time this year Multicultural Tauranga celebrated International Women's Day. The lunch event held on the lawn in front of the office drew some 25 women, some of whom had not heard of this special day before.
WING (Women's International Network Group) member Dawn Picken gave an introductory speech about the origin and relevance of International Women's Day. The social part included sharing inspirational quotes by women about women, drawn from a hat and read out loud, some funny games and a flax-flower weaving workshop.
